The region attracts both tourists and local residents, who are captivated by the combination of agricultural beauty and the imposing Piedra del Peñol, a rock formation that rises 297 meters above a dam that generates a significant portion of the country's electric power. Our journey takes us through the new town of El Peñol, an essential point for understanding the history and future of this region. Next, we will explore La Piedra del Peñol, where we will enjoy panoramic views of the Guatapé-Peñol reservoir. If you wish, you will have the opportunity to climb the more than 600 steps that will take you to the top of the stone (ascent not included), giving you an even more impressive experience. We will continue our journey with a visit to the picturesque village of Guatapé, known for the colorful decorative baseboards of its houses.
